The dark brown haircalf on these is really striking in person, not flat at all. I've had them for a few weeks now and the hand-crafted feel from the Veneto factory comes through in every stitch. The chunky sole gives just the right amount of presence without being clunky.

The haircalf upper feels way more luxurious than I expected, and the chunkier sole gives me a nice little lift without looking clunky. I've worn them walking around town all day and they didn't need any breaking in.

The chunky sole gives these a bit more presence than your standard sneaker, which I've come to appreciate. I can feel the quality of the Italian craftsmanship in the leather and stitching. They're comfortable enough for all-day wear, though I wish the break-in period was a little shorter.
