The rubber rand around the base has already saved me from a few rocky scrapes on wet trails, and my feet stayed dry through a muddy creek crossing. The D-ring lacing takes a bit of getting used to but locks the heel in nicely on descents.

Wore these straight out of the box for a muddy six-mile loop and my socks stayed dry the whole time — that rubber rand around the base really does its job. The D-rings make lacing up quick even with cold fingers.

The bovine leather broke in faster than I expected and the D-ring lacing gives a secure fit without any pressure points. Perfect for long hikes in wet conditions.
